Young faces create vitality for Vietnamese films

Young actors are increasingly appearing in prime-time films, bringing a new breeze but also facing a lot of pressure to affirm their talents.

Creating opportunities for young actors

In the movie My Father, the One Who remains, out of the 3 young actors who starred, 2 were hamstrings to the movie. Or the film "Diu dang mau nang" is on air, the female lead Ngoc Huyen also studied fine arts and switched to acting.

Previously, many famous actors with audiences also happened to be accidentally involved in acting such as Quynh Luong, Huyen Lizzie, Quoc Anh... Huyen Lizzie graduated from the Faculty of Finance - Banking, Hanoi University of Business and Technology. Quynh Luong did not learn acting, only participated in acting in music videos before. Meanwhile, Quoc Anh studied at Hanoi Tourism College.

Remember in 2023, the film "Chung ta cua 8 nam sau" caused a fever thanks to the acting of Quoc Anh and Hoang Ha - a young actor pair that is still unfamiliar to television audiences.

Despite being pressured when playing the young version of Meng Truong and Huyen Lizzie, Quoc Anh and Hoang Ha still created surprises and left their mark on their romantic youth.

Actress Ngoc Huyen, born in 1997 - is a student majoring in Psychology at Hanoi National University of Education. Ngoc Huyen touched the camera onto a role that was likened to "a shoemaking sister" - the role of Van Van in "Thuong ngay nang ve". Up to now, Ngoc Huyen has had a few more main roles on the small screen, but the role of Van Van is still an unforgettable memory, bringing her to her acting career.

Talking to reporters, actress Ngoc Huyen confided: "Up to now, many audiences still call me Van Van. I feel grateful and happy that role was an important milestone in my career. But I am not afraid of being "shocked". 4 years have passed, I have matured, no longer feel the pressure and tension when entering the studio like when I first acted in a film. I try to innovate through each role to be able to bring good roles.

It's not easy to go the long way with movies

When experienced actors have become too familiar, the need to find new, impressive faces is huge. On television, you can spot "parallel" rookies from many different fields: models, KOLs, or even ordinary people with appearances and qualities that suit the character.

Actors are limited by their natural personality, acting is still "mstile" and not bound by traditional acting models, often bringing surprising and impressive performances. However, the role that helps them get attention for the first time can become the "ball" covering their careers.

In a conversation with Lao Dong reporter, actor Thai Vu - a bachelor's degree from the University of Law also admitted that he is a limited-edition actor, and his starting point is much lower than other actors.

I have to try many times, especially when great opportunities come to me, I have to respect and be responsible at work. Even every time I accept a role, I consider it my last time acting. When the market has many new faces and fierce competition, I can't know if I have the opportunity to act in a film or not. Therefore, I always enjoy and give my all for each character I take on.

To play the role of Viet in My Father, the One Who remains, Thai Vu studied the island for 2 months, learned to play basketball to realistically depict the characters life. He shared that with a long-term TV role, he faced the pressure to build a meticulous character, maintain his form and lead the audience's emotions through a long journey.

The arrival of young faces has brought a new, more diverse and richer look to TV series. However, to stay with films for a long time, they need time to affirm their talents, improve their acting skills and build trust from the audience. Only by taking advantage of the freshness of new actors and maintaining the artistic quality of the work, can Vietnamese films retain audiences, discover and nurture more talents.
