Beautiful scenery, Vietnamese culture - the third character of cinema
In the film " Lat mat 8 - Vong tay nang" by director Ly Hai released with the main setting of the film filmed at Bau Trang scenic area, Binh Thuan has created a record box office revenue, contributing to promoting tourism in Binh Thuan.
The beautiful scenes at the place known as the " sub-depression Sahara" have attracted the attention of the audience and reminded visitors of the South Central Coast region in general and Binh Thuan in particular.
Meanwhile, "Detective Kien: Ky an khong dau" is set in the North. Victor Vu's combination of cinema and promoting beautiful landscapes and travel is shown in that he uses natural light as a storytelling tool to bring a sense of authenticity and majesty of nature.

Sharing with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, director Victor Vu revealed: "Making the most of the beauty of pristine nature in Vietnam to build a setting for the film is considered a way to help the project reach more audiences, helping them love the Northern landscape more.
In the project, we exploited famous landmarks and relics such as: Ban Cai Lake, Khuoi Nhi Waterfall (Tuyen Quang); Co La Waterfall, Vinh Quy Hill, Mat Than Mountain, Khuoi Ky Village, Co Muong Village (Cao Bang). With natural beauty, the crew did not intervene much.
To film these scenes, the crew took up to 6 months to find enough filming locations - the hardest of the films I have ever worked on."
In some recent works, filmmakers continue to expand their search for and exploit Vietnamese landscapes in the northern mountainous areas. The scenery of Ha Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang... still appears majestically and poetically in "The Last Wife", "The Heart Light".
Before the two projects "Flip Face 8: Sunshine" and "Detective Kien: The first non -head", the film "Love the wrong friend" by Diep The Vinh and Nguyen Quang Dung showed on the occasion of the Lunar New Year was also positively responded by the audience thanks to the integration of beautiful scenery, promoting tourism into the project.

Before the aforementioned film projects, Vietnamese cinema also made some tourist destinations known by tourists, loved and visited more such as: Ha Giang majestic in "Pao's story", Phu Yen sky in "I see yellow flowers on green grass" and the image of the Western river in the movie "Endless field" and most recently "Southern Forest Land" ...
Still need to make efforts in effective exploitation
Regarding the trend of bringing Vietnamese scenery into films, director Nguyen Quang Dung commented that this has been and is a trend of Vietnamese filmmakers to help the work get closer to the public and the audience will have more sympathy.
There have been many films when the trailer has beautiful and eye-catching scenes that have attracted audiences. This is considered a good trend and should be promoted. That also helps the image, landscape, country and people of Vietnam spread to all regions and even the world.
However, over the years, Vietnamese filmmakers and world-famous directors have exploited Vietnamese scenery to set the film, but it is clear to see that the projects have not yet fully exploited their potential as well as beautiful scenery in all regions of the country.
In particular, most filmmakers focus on very famous landmarks, while some other landmarks with long-standing cultures and history are still little exploited.
According to director The Hiep, the reason for the potential of Vietnamese film scenes but not being exploited to the fullest extent is the lack of information for foreign filmmakers to easily access as well as the lack of a special priority mechanism.
As for Vietnamese filmmakers, the funding factor and calculation between choosing a famous and less famous setting for production are also considered by the film crew.
Director The Hiep also pointed out that filmmakers must be aware that audiences love films that honor Vietnamese landscapes. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully study the culture and characteristic landscape of each area planned to film. At the same time, we also need to communicate to the public about protecting the landscape and environment so that tourists who love the film can visit.
In particular, it is also necessary to build a separate mechanism, local authorities should create conditions for groups to go to the locality to film. When scenic spots are put on screen and widely known to the public, it will contribute to the development of the local tourism economy in particular and Vietnam in general.
