This year's National Day holiday lasts from August 29th to the end of September 2nd. This is forecast to be one of Ninh Binh's peak tourist seasons when people's demand for sightseeing and relaxation increases sharply.
At Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area, the end of August is also when water lilies begin to bloom on the Ngo Dong River. Purple flower strips appear along the boat tour route, creating more highlights for the typical limestone mountain and river landscape of the area. Ms. Nguyen Do Thuy Duong - in charge of communication of Tam Coc - Bich Dong Tourist Area - informed that the unit is focusing on landscape cleaning, reviewing service conditions and strengthening visitor guidance to ensure convenient and safe tours during the holidays. Preparation work is also being implemented in many other tourist areas and spots. The campus, sign system and visitor service areas are being reviewed and renovated; personnel are being strengthened at locations expected to have a large concentration of people.
Some destinations and service facilities also add cultural, artistic and experiential activities, thereby creating more choices for customers instead of just visiting for a short time.
Ninh Binh currently has more than 70 tourist areas and attractions and about 1,500 accommodation establishments, providing about 23,000 rooms. Among these, there are 72 accommodation establishments meeting standards from 1 to 5 stars with nearly 3,900 rooms and 343 homestay establishments with more than 2,700 rooms.
Mr. Bui Van Manh - Director of Ninh Binh Provincial Department of Tourism - said that holidays are a time when businesses need to pay special attention to service quality, environmental sanitation and how to treat tourists. The Provincial Department of Tourism encourages units to increase connectivity between attractions, accommodation establishments, restaurants and related services. The formation of a complete service chain is expected to help tourists have more experiences, stay longer and increase spending in the locality.
In parallel with tourism business activities, security and order assurance and traffic safety are being implemented in areas predicted to welcome many tourists.
At Thinh Long beach tourist area, Hai Thinh commune, Ninh Binh province, the number of visitors is forecast to increase during the National Day holiday. Local functional forces have developed a plan to patrol and control on roads and areas with large numbers of people and vehicles.
Cases of vehicles stopping and parking improperly or causing traffic obstruction will be inspected and handled to limit congestion. Locations at risk of unsafety when swimming in the sea will also be reviewed to add warning signs, prohibition signs and strengthen guidance for people and tourists.
In Nam Hoa Lu ward, where many tourism and service activities are concentrated, the police force deploys patrols before and during the holidays. Business households are required not to illegally use roads and sidewalks to display goods, set up billboards or stop and park vehicles that affect traffic. Nearly 20 surveillance cameras have also been installed by Nam Hoa Lu Ward Police in areas at risk of security, order and traffic safety problems.
