Having gone through two marriages, People's Artist Quoc Tri is having happy days with his soulmate, native of Hai Phong. He has a pension and a comfortable life.

People's Artist Quoc Tri was born in 1957 in Nam Dinh (now Ninh Binh province).

In his youth, NSND Quoc Tri once refused the opportunity to study abroad, determined to follow the path of professional art.

After being recruited into the spoken drama troupe of the General Department of Politics (now the Army Drama Theater), he actively participated in art activities, both acting in films and participating in plays at the theater.

Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, he said that he never distinguishes between main or supporting roles, but always tries his best to clearly reveal the personality of the character.

Artist Quoc Tri confided that many people asked him why he didn't choose happy roles like tycoons or directors to play?

He said that his face is not suitable for the role of a tycoon, but if he is forced to act, those roles cannot... make it difficult for him.

Playing villains is more difficult because you have to be hated by the audience, have to have conflicts, and when playing bad people and being hated by the audience, the actor is already successful," the male artist said.

Regarding personal matters, People's Artist Quoc Tri admits that he has had trouble in his love life. He has had 2 wives and now has a soulmate by his side.

His first wife was artist Lan Huong, two people in the same profession, in the same drama troupe. They met and got married, they had a daughter. When the child was 16 years old, the two broke up in civilization, taking care of their common daughter together.

The first marriage broke down, it was not until 10 years later that Quoc Tri remarried a woman named Huong, the two had no children together.

Living together for 10 years, his wife was seriously ill. He also wholeheartedly cared for his wife, and in 2018, she passed away.

The male artist recounted that his eldest daughter and two stepchildren of his second wife were very close. Every time the family had business or meetings, the children still stood up to organize, connecting everyone together.

The children still ask each other about their studies, their husbands and children. He is happy that the children know how to love, care for and unite.

In 2019, the male artist went to old Quang Binh (now Quang Tri) to participate in a reality show, met artist Phuong Minh (formerly an actor working at the Hai Phong Drama Troupe), after retiring Phuong Minh moved to live in Ho Chi Minh City.

Both are in the same situation, their children have grown up, so they have been friends since then.

Phuong Minh returned to the collective house in the Military art troupe area on Tran Vy street (Hanoi) to live with me. At this age, I think love is finding a soulmate, a confidant who can share about my profession and life. I don't consider myself a womanizer, but because of my uncertain fate, I have to endure it," People's Artist Quoc Tri recounted.

Quoc Tri said that his daughter also strongly supports his father to remarry. He and his first wife also have a very good relationship: "My first wife currently lives in Da Nang, when there are common matters related to our children and grandchildren, we still meet. One year, my current partner and I also went to Da Nang to celebrate Tet and also went to my ex-wife's house.

My ex-wife often talks to Phuong Minh. Even after breaking up, we still have a civilized relationship.

Every day, the schedule of the 69-year-old artist is quite busy. He wakes up at 5 am to watch TV, drink tea and go to the market with his partner.

After that, he went to a nearby urban area to pick up and drop off his 2 grandchildren to school before returning for breakfast. Currently, he is retiring and enjoys a pension of 18 million VND/month.

Two sessions a day, I take on the task of picking up and dropping off my grandchildren to school because their parents are very busy. During the day, if I am free, I often invite friends to West Lake to fish," he recounted.
