According to a report released on March 19 by the Korea CXO Research Institute, a company specializing in business analysis, there are a total of 27 individuals currently owning shares worth over 10 billion won in companies related to the Korean cultural content industry such as cinema, music, television dramas, webtoons and web novels.
As of March 17, the total value of shares of these 27 individuals reached 6.127 trillion won, an increase of more than 127.6 billion won in just about 3 months since the beginning of the year.
BTS owner" Bang Si Hyuk - Chairman of HYBE Group - ranks No. 1 when holding more than 13.15 million HYBE shares, estimated total stock assets reaching 4.8 trillion won.
Bang Si Hyuk's stock value has increased by 249.8 billion won (5.5%) in the past 80 days. The reason is said to be due to a slight increase in stock prices as BTS's concert scheduled for March 21st at Gwanghwamun Square is approaching.
Second place belongs to Park Jin Young, founder and major shareholder of JYP Entertainment, with a stock value of about 362.7 billion won.
Ranked third is Yang Hyun Suk, founder of YG Entertainment, with about 225 billion won.
Other notable figures include Park Sung Chan (Chairman of Danal) with 89.6 billion won; Kang Seung Gon (CEO Cube Entertainment) with 62.8 billion won; Shin Hyun Ho (Chairman of the Board of Directors of D&C Media) with 44.2 billion won; Yang Min Seok (President of YG Entertainment) with 40.3 billion won; Lee Jae Hyun (Chairman of CJ ENM) holds 25.2 billion won in shares.

Meanwhile, the stock value of the 7 BTS members is also estimated at about 20 billion won each.
BTS members are exempt from the obligation to disclose information about stock fluctuations because their special stakeholder status with HYBE's largest shareholder has been abolished since September 2023.
If BTS members still keep the original number of shares, the estimated value per person is as follows: V, Suga, Jimin, Jungkook each about 24.9 billion won; J-Hope holds about 22.9 billion won; RM about 21.1 billion won and Jin owns about 19.1 billion won.
Mr. Oh Il Sun - Director of Korea CXO Institute - commented: "BTS's large-scale concert held on March 21st in Gwanghwamun Square is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of attendees, along with the fact that the film directed by Jang Hang Jun has exceeded 13 million views, showing that the level of interest in the Korean cultural - content field is at an unprecedented high level.
However, contrary to that concern, the valuation of shares of listed companies in this industry is generally still low, so there needs to be a reversal in the near future.
