The movie "Getting Rich with Ghosts 2: The foster War" by director Trung Lun officially premiered on August 29, 2025. After 5 days of release, the work quickly attracted the attention of the audience, earning more than 53 billion VND in revenue, selling more than 600,000 tickets and maintaining its position as the top 2 box office in Vietnam (according to Box Office as of 2:00 p.m. on September 4).
By noon on September 5, the film brought in an additional 2 billion VND and increased its revenue to 55 billion VND.

According to the crew, a week after the premiere, the producer decided to release a new film version with a faster pace, more dramatic and more humorous, but still maintaining the "backbone" elements of the story.
Director Trung Lung shared: At first, I was quite hesitant when editing a film that had just been released in theaters, but listening to the audience's comments, we shortened some long-running scenes, emphasizing the dramatic climax without losing the entertainment value. I believe that both new and old audiences will easily enjoy the story positively."
Compared to the original, the new version retains the plot but is more streamlined and seamless. The laughing situations are tightly arranged and harmoniously with chases, fights and even the chaotic battle scene is elaborately staged. The comedy element is not lost, but is instead added to the drama, making viewers both nervous and laughing. The witty moments interspersed with the quiet moments, when the story exposes greed and selfishness, are turning ordinary people into the blind.
The new film version with a duration of 125 minutes will officially be released in theaters from September 5, 2025.
The film revolves around a group of 5 people including Mr. Nhan (Hoai Linh) - Con (Tuan Tran), the couple Dang (La Thanh) - Tien ( Diep Bao Ngoc) and Giang (Vo Tan Phat). Once, when the body of actress Anh Thu (Ngoc Xuan) was discovered drifting on the riverbank, the group was greedy when they saw a diamond ring worth 9 billion VND. However, the ghost of Anh Thu appeared in Mr. Nhan's camera and asked them to take her body back to her hometown, promising to repay her with the diamond ring.
