2025 will witness a clear differentiation of the Vietnamese film market.
While some projects created a box office "fever" with revenue of hundreds of billions of VND, in the opposite direction, many films have fallen into a situation of heavy losses, even having revenue that has not reached the 1 billion VND mark - the level considered a "dyke" of the current cinema market.
Topping the list of films with the lowest revenue of the year is The Supply House: If you play, you can accept, with a total revenue of only about 153 million VND. This is the film with the lowest revenue at the Vietnamese box office in 2025. The film has almost failed to make a media impression, has few screenings and has quickly withdrawn from theaters after a short time.
Following is Vietnamese Concert Film: We are Vietnamese, reaching about 207 million VND. Although exploiting the form of film concerts - which once had its own audience, this work still had difficulty in keeping its screening space. Documentaries are picky about viewers, lack widespread effects and are not competitive enough in the context of cinemas prioritizing entertainment blockbusters.

Similarly, "Doi chi mo di" only earned about 309 million VND. Despite promotional activities before the premiere, the work still did not attract audiences. The film's lack of fresh content and weak word-of-mouth effects are the main reasons why the film is quickly " gone under".
One case that caused many regrets was "Rain on the butterfly Wings", with a revenue of about 647 million VND. The film has been highly appreciated at international film festivals, with clear artistic color. However, when released in domestic theaters, the film did not reach the majority of audiences.
"Bim mat catching Nai" recorded a revenue of 697 million VND. The film was canceled early in many theaters due to low ticket sales. The release in theaters during a time of fierce competition, along with a lackluster promotional strategy, prevented the film from creating a highlight before being "eliminated" from the box office.
"The Heart is Hungry" earned about 834 million VND. Despite a relatively large investment in promotion, the film still failed to convert media attention into real revenue. This is an example showing that strong promotion does not mean box office success if the content is not convincing enough for the audience.
Finally, "The miracle generation" ended its theatrical journey with a revenue of only about 853 million VND. The film was expected when the project was announced, but in fact became one of the most notable box office failures of 2025, leaving theaters after a few weeks of showing.
Overall, the group of films with revenue under 1 billion VND in 2025 clearly reflects the harshness of the Vietnamese film market. As audiences become more and more cautious in choosing films for theaters, works that lack highlights in content, media or do not clearly identify target audiences are likely to suffer heavy losses. This is also a warning for producers to balance between artistic creation, release strategies and commercial problems in the coming years.
