Lao Dong reporter wins honorary degree at ND Awards (UK) 2024

The photo series “The Houses Will Gradually Disappear” of old apartment buildings in Hanoi by Viet Van, a reporter for Lao Dong Newspaper, won an honorable mention in the Regional Journalism - Documentary category for professional photographers at the UK’s Neutral Density (ND Awards) 2024 international photo contest. The jury of 22 prestigious experts from many countries evaluated the works based on the criteria of perfect style and new approach to photography.

According to the Organizing Committee, photography is a creative art where artists can present not only images but also the story behind them. The contest has many categories from Architecture to People, Nature, Fine Arts... and is judged through many rounds. The Grand Prize belongs to author Drew Gardner (UK) and the Discovery of the Year Award goes to Victoria Ruiz (UK).

The contest marks 10 years since its inception in 2014, with its reputation established by attracting many famous photographers in the world to submit photos, creating new trends in the world of photography.

Since the beginning of 2024, photographer Viet Van has won 19 international photography awards in the US, UK, France, Greece, India, Türkiye, Australia...
