Quang Nam aims to welcome 8.4 million tourists, including 5.7 million international visitors, in 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province - said that revenue from tourism and accommodation in 2024 is estimated at 9,200 billion VND, an increase of 19% compared to 2023. Social income from tourism is estimated at 21,620 billion VND. In recent years, the proportion of international visitors to Quang Nam has always accounted for 50 - 60% of the total number of visitors. Quang Nam has many advantages to attract international visitors. Firstly, the tourism potential, cultural destinations, peaceful villages, craft villages, traditional festivals in Quang Nam are suitable for the needs of the international tourist market. Secondly, the advantage of Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport has connected many tourists by air to Quang Nam. Thirdly, Quang Nam has focused many resources to promote and advertise tourism to the international tourist market.

Quang Nam is also the first locality in the country to issue a set of provincial green tourism criteria (from 2022), including 6 areas, for the following types: Hotels, homestays, eco-resorts, community-based tourism destinations, travel agencies and attractions.

Therefore, international visitors to Quang Nam are always stable and account for a high proportion, compared to other localities in the country.

“In the coming time, Quang Nam will continue to orient towards green tourism development and sustainable development. With the help of UNESCO and Swedish experts, we are trying to implement the green tourism criteria, taking the community as the foundation to continue attracting international visitors,” said Mr. Hong.

In 2025, Quang Nam tourism aims to welcome about 8.4 million visitors and stay; of which international visitors will be about 5.7 million, domestic visitors will be about 2.7 million, social income from tourism will exceed 25,000 billion VND.

Quang Nam tourism leaders believe that the main targets set are not too high, completely within the capacity of the tourism industry, especially the target on the number of visitors. That shows that Quang Nam tourism continues to focus more on improving product quality, thereby aiming to attract high-quality tourist markets to gradually exploit the potential and position the brand as a classy green tourism destination.
