Lieutenant Colonel Vu Minh Toan - Deputy Head of Riverine Traffic Police Team No. 1 (under the Traffic Police Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Police) - said that currently in Ninh Binh province there are about 20 tourist areas and spots with ferry terminals to transport tourists with nearly 3,000 ferries.
Most of them are manual boats, without engines, and boat drivers are trained and certified as boat drivers. The management boards of these tourist areas and spots also arrange forces to monitor the compliance with regulations and rules when sitting on boats such as wearing life jackets, and having life buoys on the boat...
During the inspection process, we focused on inspecting the operating conditions of ferry terminals, passenger vehicles as well as the compliance with regulations on registration, inspection, equipment of life jackets, life-saving equipment, fire prevention and fighting, and safety assurance plans for tourists" - Lieutenant Colonel Vu Minh Toan said.
Also according to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Minh Toan, in addition to inspection, the waterway traffic police force also organizes the distribution of life jackets, propaganda, and signing commitments with ferry terminal owners and ferry drivers.

According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, at ferry terminals with many tourists such as Trang An, Hoa Lu ancient town, Thung Nham, Tam Chuc, Tam Coc - Bich Dong, on February 25, although the number of tourists was very large, the compliance with regulations when sitting on boats was strictly implemented according to regulations and rules of the tourist area.
In the Trang An ferry terminal area, 100% of tourists when boarding the ferry wear life jackets, the ferries here are arranged in order and carry the correct number of people.
At Thung Nham boat wharf, tourists are instructed to queue and wear life jackets before boarding the ferry.
Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Lan - Head of Business Department of Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area said that currently the entire tourist area has nearly 100 boats carrying tourists to visit. 100% of boat drivers here have been trained in boat rowing techniques and are certified.
We regularly propagate and require ferry drivers to check before the ferry leaves the wharf, if tourists do not comply with wearing life jackets according to regulations, they are strictly not allowed to let the ferry leave the wharf.
