In May 2025, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province plans to survey and research to establish a list of documents and exhibits on display at Truong Sa Museum (Phase 1).
The objectives of the plan to study and survey the list of sources of documents and artifacts to serve the development of detailed collection plans for documents and artifacts displayed at the Spratly Museum; Contributing to research and providing historical and legal evidence in the struggle to protect the sovereignty of Vietnam's sea and islands in general and Truong Sa Archipelago in particular. At the same time, contributing to conservation and promotion of Truong Sa island cultural values.
Accordingly, Khanh Hoa province will invite experts to organize training for survey groups to thoroughly grasp the content and specific survey locations to ensure effectiveness, focus and key points in the implementation process.
It is expected that in the second and third quarters of 2025, the working group of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Khanh Hoa Provincial Museum will proactively develop a plan for experts from Hanoi to go to Khanh Hoa to train groups of methods and skills to collect documents; guide the implementation of direction and participate with members of the survey team to research and create a list of documents and exhibits on display at Truong Sa Museum.
In Hanoi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, experts and members of the survey team from Khanh Hoa researched and prepared a list of documents and exhibits on display at the Truong Sa Museum.
After completing the above steps, the authorities will have results, compile a list of documents and artifacts of the units, related to the exhibition to the Truong Sa Museum after conducting an investigation and survey.
Coordinate with experts and the Advisory Council to organize the classification of documents and artifacts needed for display at the Truong Sa Museum.
At the same time, the cultural sector will synthesize a report with a list (classified) to the Provincial People's Committee and the Steering Committee for the Truong Sa Museum Construction Project to develop the next plan.
Towards building a modern museum
The Truong Sa Museum will be built on a 20,700m2 land plot in Cam Hai Dong commune, Cam Lam district. The Truong Sa Museum will be adjacent to the Gac Ma Soldier Memorial Site.
The Truong Sa Museum will be a modern and unique project, meeting the needs of scientific research, learning, sightseeing and cultural enjoyment of the public, worthy of the name and goals of the Truong Sa Museum, the first museum on seas and islands and island sovereignty in Vietnam.
The exhibition content of the Truong Sa Museum contributes to promoting and introducing Vietnam's sovereignty over Truong Sa archipelago; raising awareness and providing visitors with accurate and objective information about the geological, geophysical and climatic history of coral reefs in the process of forming Truong Sa archipelago.
