
On the afternoon of July 25 (local time), the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Cultural Festival with the theme "Vietnam - Colors from the Tropics" and a series of cultural diplomatic activities in Russia took place in Moscow to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia.
Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Ms. Ngo Phuong Ly, wife of General Secretary To Lam, affirmed that the event of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia 75 years ago not only opened a new chapter in the diplomatic history of the two countries, but also demonstrated solidarity, trust and sharing between the two peoples.
Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly emphasized that the event held with the quintessence and typical cultural colors of Vietnam is one of the vivid evidences of strong cultural cooperation between the two countries.
This is an opportunity for the public, Russian people and international friends in Russia to experience the quintessence of Vietnamese culture, from traditional arts such as water puppetry, puppets, folk music, to silk products made with silk and traditional ao dai, "ricoline" cuisine, handicrafts and lacquer jewelry...

First Vice President of the Russian Federation Council Andrey Yatskin affirmed that the major cultural event at Moscow's historical site is a testament to the remarkable development of Vietnam - Russia relations agreed to be further strengthened by both sides during General Secretary To Lam's official visit to Russia in May 2025. The presence of Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly further affirms the friendship and humane exchange that play an important role in cooperation between the two countries.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow City Natalia Sergunina was delighted that for the first time, the large-scale Vietnam Cultural Festival with over 100 events was held in the Red Square area of Russia.
According to Ms. Natalia Sergunina, Vietnam is the 7th country among countries with a large number of tourists to the Russian Federation.
Ms. Natalia Sergunina hopes that after this Festival event, along with further connecting the friendship of the people of the two countries, the number of two-way tourist exchanges between Vietnam and Russia will have remarkable growth.

Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasized that the Festival is a vivid symbol of the sincere friendship and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, giving the Russian people the opportunity to learn more about Vietnam, a country with blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine, people of closeness, diligence, hard work, friendliness, hospitality, and always welcoming Russian tourists.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi believes that with this cultural journey, the public and people of Russia will feel more deeply the soul of the Vietnamese people, as well as the close affection and true friendship of the people of the two countries, thereby promoting the development of tourism, economy and trade between Vietnam and Russia.

The Vietnam Cultural Festival in Moscow takes place from July 25 to August 3, 2025.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Moscow City government, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam - Russia diplomatic relations.
The event introduced Vietnamese culture, art and cuisine through water puppetry programs - the first time building a water pavilion next to Red Square, performing folk music, exhibiting photos, lacquer, silk fashion with the ao dai "Hanoi 12 seasons of flowers", and the space of Hanoi green rice cuisine - "Flavors of Com: Hanoi quintessence, soul of the Red River".
The festival also has community activities with the theme "Homeland" such as interaction, learning and directly experiencing he painting, painting Dong Ho paintings, getting acquainted with lacquer art and Vietnamese traditional dances, bamboo dance...
