The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Czech Republic, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, and towards Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23.
Attending the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong; Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam; Deputy Minister of National Defense of the Czech Republic Daniel Blazkovec; ambassadors and heads of representative agencies of many countries in the Czech Republic such as the US, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, China, Argentina, Myanmar... along with representatives of Vietnamese associations in Europe, the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and about 200 international guests and friends.
The exhibition introduces nearly 200 typical images and artifacts, summarizing Vietnamese cultural heritage and efforts to protect and promote heritage values over the years. In addition to the opening section, the content is divided into four topics: legal system and policies for heritage protection; Vietnamese heritages recognized by UNESCO; the diversity and uniqueness of Vietnamese cultural heritage; and the role of cultural heritage in sustainable development.
Through visual images, the exhibition helps the overseas Vietnamese community and the international public better understand the historical and cultural traditions of Vietnam, from relics, scenic spots to festivals, handicrafts, performing arts, folk knowledge or beliefs and customs. These are all unique values of Vietnam and are also an important part of the treasure trove of human cultural heritage.
Representatives of the Ministry of National Defense of the Czech Republic, ambassadors and Vietnamese associations in Europe all acknowledged and highly appreciated the exhibition, considering it an activity with a widespread influence, contributing to promoting Vietnamese cultural heritage, promoting cultural exchange, enhancing understanding and strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.
