The Mau Sinh Temple relic is located on the slope of Ngu Nhac Mountain in Le Loi Commune, Chi Linh City, Hai Duong Province. Mau Sinh Temple worships the Holy Mother of Thach Ban in the position of a mother giving birth. This is a unique, rare natural stone statue of the Mother in our country.
According to the book Linh Nam Chich Quai, in the land of An Mo village, Phuong Nhon district, Kinh Bac town, there was a mountain shaped like a screen. There was a rock as wide as two mats, with a hole about one meter wide in the middle. This rock somewhat resembled a mother in the position of giving birth.
At that time, the An Mo village shepherds often herded buffaloes early in the morning on the slopes of Ngu Nhac mountain. At the hour of "Bat Nhat, Dan Thoi" (the hour of Dan on the 8th day of the 5th lunar month), they suddenly heard the sound of a baby crying. The shepherds immediately called each other to go there. They saw on the rock a handsome and handsome boy sitting in the hollow of the rock, crying loudly like a big bell.
The An Mo shepherd boy quickly used his hands to make a palanquin, his hat as an umbrella, and his scarf as a flag, and carried him back to the village. When he reached the village entrance, suddenly there was a heavy rain, loud thunder, sand flying, and rocks rolling everywhere. Thien Dong shouted and ascended to Heaven, and a voice echoed in the air: "I am Phi Bong Hieu Thien Dai Tuong Quan descended from heaven". The local people were surprised and immediately built a temple to worship him. At the place where Mother Thach Linh gave birth to the baby, a Mau Sinh temple was built.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoa - Head of the Mau Sinh Temple - Thanh Hoa Temple Relic Management Team, the temple is not only the oldest historical and cultural relic in Chi Linh land but also a sacred place for "child praying" for many couples from all over the place, including pregnant mothers who come to pray for the healthy development of their fetuses.
According to Ms. Thoa, over the years, the Mau Sinh Temple Relic Management Board has made continuous efforts to preserve and promote the cultural and historical values of the temple. Through the media, the Relic Management Board has brought the beauty, sacredness and spiritual values of Mau Sinh Temple closer to visitors from all over the country.
Mau Sinh Temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic, according to Decision No. 295/QD-BT dated December 12, 1994 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
