In order to deeply remember and express gratitude for the great sacrifices and contributions of cadres, soldiers, people and students from the South in the troop transfer to the North, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province will organize a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of this historic event (May 16, 1954 - May 16, 2025) in Quy Nhon City.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, key activities will take place from May 14 to 17, with many rich and meaningful contents.
The opening of the series of activities is the Flower Offering Ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Northward Rally, taking place at 1:30 p.m. on May 16 at Quy Nhon Port Relic - Location of 300 days of the Northward Rally, on Xuan Dieu Street, Quy Nhon City.
The highlight of the series of activities is the Commemoration Ceremony and a special art program with the theme "Forever we keep our oaths, we will be unified", held at 8:00 p.m. on May 16 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City.
The program was implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, gathering more than 250 artists, singers, and actors such as People's Artist Thu Hien, singer Trong Tan, Lan Anh, and the participation of the Binh Dinh Provincial Traditional Arts Theater.
The program was elaborately staged, including 11 art performances and documentaries, vividly recreating the historical journey from the Dien Bien Phu victory, the Geneve Agreement signing ceremony, to the moment of sacred separation when Regiment 803 - the last unit left Quy Nhon port to go to the North.
The outstanding repertoire such as: Hien Luong's shore, Ko Nia tree ball, love song, lyrics offer Uncle Ho, especially the unified song and continue the story of peace, brought the audience through deep emotional levels, depicting patriotism, noble sacrifice, and the desire for peace, the burning unity of the Vietnamese people.
The stage is arranged vividly with symbolic images such as the national flag flying, brilliant pink lotus, whiteo cau, red silk strip, along with traditional hut scenes, bringing an artistic space that is both solemn, emotional and filled with revolutionary spirit.
In addition to the festival activities, from May 14 to 17, 2025, at Truong Chinh Street, Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center, an exhibition will be held to display archival documents with the theme "Memories of Youth Gathering to the North".
The opening ceremony will be held at 8:00 a.m. on May 14, 2025. The exhibition introduces many valuable documents and images about the historical gathering period, contributing to educating the tradition of patriotism, fostering the ideal of life and the sense of responsibility for the younger generation.
