Accordingly, press agencies all recognized their mistakes, deeply understood the lessons learned in appraising information sources, promptly removed violating articles, conducted serious self-criticism and discipline, disciplined 1 person with dismissal, warned 1 person, reprimanded 3 people, suspended 19 people, transferred 4 people to other jobs; terminated cooperation with collaborators participating in writing articles.
Based on the established administrative violation record, as of July 14, 2026, the management agency will handle administrative violations with the following penalties:
- 21 press agencies were fined 60 million VND for serious violations, 1 agency was fined 5 million VND for less serious violations, and 1 agency had its operating license revoked due to dissolution.
- State management agencies request managing agencies to lead and direct affiliated press agencies to organize serious self-criticism, clarify the responsibilities of collectives and individuals related to the operating process and publication of news and articles. The consideration of discipline must be strict and commensurate with the violation.
