On the evening of November 7, the first Aspiration Stream Animation Film Festival with the theme “Vietnam Animation Flow” took place in Hanoi. This is a community project organized to connect generations of artists, honor contributions to the industry, and encourage creativity with the aspiration to bring Vietnamese art to the world.
Vietnamese animation has gone through 65 years of formation and development (1959 - 2024), witnessing the birth of many talented animation studios and quality animation products.
Speaking at the event announcement ceremony, People's Artist Pham Ngoc Tuan, General Director of Vietnam Animation Studio shared:
"This film festival is an interesting, useful and encouraging event for the future of animation. The flow of Vietnamese animation over the past 65 years, the first generations when making black and white films have gone through many difficult periods.
There is a good sign that Vietnamese animation is always developing, from the South to the North. The passion for animation never dies, the flame is always lit. Hopefully, new, young, ambitious faces will bring Vietnamese animation to the world in the future."
The Aspiration Stream Animation Festival is held with about 20 events in November. Generations will learn about the cradle of the country's "8th art". This is also an opportunity for organizations and individuals working in the field of contemporary art to share and spread the motivation to develop strongly together, and a place for veteran artists to pass on their passion to many generations.
The film festival will take place from November 8 to November 30, 2024 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The main events will be held from November 22 to 24 at the Vincom Center for Contemporary Arts - Vincom Royal City, Hanoi with many attractive and diverse activities.
In particular, there is a free animated film screening program to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Vietnamese animation industry taking place from November 15-30 at major cinema systems in Hanoi.
Audiences will enjoy a feast of animated films, including excellent films, from award-winning works and films by young producers from: Vietnam Animation Studio, Sconnect Vietnam, Alpha Studio and typical French animated films provided by the French Embassy.
