The film week commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and the 80th Anniversary of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) of the People's Army Cinema has brought to audiences nationwide works reflecting the development and growth of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
The commemorative film week screened 8 films, including 4 documentaries produced by the People's Army Cinema: "Steadfast Steps Under the Party Flag" - Director People's Artist Luu Quy; "Marching Under the Military Flag - Episode 1: Fighting for Independence" - Director Pham Thanh Hung; "Marching Under the Military Flag - Episode 2: Ready to Protect the Fatherland" - Director People's Artist Luu Quy; "Spiritual Image" - Director Nguyen Quang Quyet.
4 feature films produced by the unit and domestic film studios: "Tieng gong dinh menh" - Director People's Artist Nguyen Khac Loi, People's Artist Le Thi - People's Army Cinema produced; "Con duong co mat troi" - Director Vu Anh Nhat - People's Army Cinema produced; "Thau chin o Xiem" - Director Bui Tuan Dung - Film Studio of Vietnam Cinema Association produced; "Dem Ben Tre" - Director People's Artist Tran Phuong - People's Army Cinema produced.
The works selected for screening during the film week once again introduce to officers, soldiers and people films on the theme of armed forces and revolutionary war produced by the People's Army Cinema and domestic film studios; encourage and motivate officers, soldiers of the entire army and people to promote their traditions and aspirations to contribute to building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new situation.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thu Dung - Director of the People's Army Cinema, said that among the 8 films screened on this occasion, there are 4 documentaries produced by the People's Army Cinema. In particular, the documentaries "Steadfast steps under the Party flag" and "Advancing under the military flag" were also screened for the first time. Both films not only reflect the history of heroic fighting, but also highlight the great contributions of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of protecting the country's independence, freedom, unification and building the Fatherland.
