The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document responding to voters' petitions sent before the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly.
According to voters' reflection, there is currently a lot of bad, toxic information on social networks, which is distorted from the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's laws and policies, and opposes the Party and the State. Propose to take measures to strictly handle this issue.
Responding to voters' recommendations, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that on November 9, 2024, the Government issued Decree No. 147/2024/ND-CP regulating the management, provision and use of Internet services and information on the network.
According to the Minister, in the past time, the Ministry has proactively and actively disseminated and strictly implemented the provisions in Decree No. 147.
The effective implementation of the provisions in Decree No. 147 contributes to reducing the situation of bad, toxic information, distorting the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, and sabotage of the Party and the State on social networks.
In addition, the state management agency in the field of radio, television and electronic information issued 8 documents to organizations and enterprises to establish general electronic information pages and social networks both domestically and internationally, requesting strict implementation of the provisions of Decree No. 147.
At the same time, it reflects important developments in the country's political life, contributing to spreading positive energy in society, replicating good people, good deeds, good models.
In particular, focus on increasing information and propaganda about the task of protecting the Fatherland, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, refuting the wrong views and statements of hostile forces; fighting against bad and toxic information on the Internet environment.
In addition, the Ministry has also operated a Center for handling fake news and bad and toxic information to promptly detect sources of dissemination of images and information of violations on cyberspace to proactively implement appropriate and timely preventive measures.
Resolutely fighting against cross-border social networks (such as Facebook, YouTube, TikTok...) must prevent the removal of bad, toxic images and information that violate Vietnamese law.
Develop and promulgate Codes of Conduct in cyberspace to raise awareness of people on social networks, not providing, using, or spreading bad and toxic information in cyberspace.
Actively coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to manage information online with real-world awareness and in cyberspace.
Effectively develop a system of hotlines, information technology means (email, messaging applications, social networks, etc.).
In 2024 and the first 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam Fake News Processing Center received a total of 2,187 feedbacks.
Of which: 1,103 reports on bad and toxic news; 181 reports on false news: incorrect reports on press agencies...; 546 reports on online financial fraud; 219 reports on fake personal and organized news dissemination.
tingia.gov.vn Portal has promptly published many fake news and untrue news, promptly preventing the spread of fake news and untrue news.
In addition, more than 50 articles have been published warning about fraudulent and untrue content that has a great impact, preventing more than 2,200 websites from posting fake news, scams, gambling, betting, and prostitutional advertising.
