Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung - Director of the Department of Culture - Sports - Tourism (VHTTDL) of Quang Ninh province - said that he will temporarily suspend the dining activities in Doi cave, so that the interdisciplinary team of the province can assess the entire state of this cave.
Because, according to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, through the report of Cam Pha City and functional units of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, hang Doi - part of the Vung Duc cave system - has been exploited, used by people and businesses, and built a number of works inside since the early 1990s.
Therefore, it is necessary to re-evaluate the entire process of using Doi Cave, then submit it to the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province to consider and decide whether to open a food and music service inside this cave or not.
Previously, after a company specializing in tourism services in Hanoi announced a cooperation with the management and exploitation unit of the Vung Duc cave system, located in the Vung Duc Relic and Scenic Landscape Area, Cam Pha City to open a new tourism product: having a party and listening to a concert in the Doi cave (also known as Cung Dinh Cave), public opinion had many conflicting opinions.
Some opinions say that visitors should only sell entrance tickets, not organize meals in caves to protect natural caves.
However, there are also opinions that Doi Cave has been exploited and used by people and businesses for decades, and is located on the shore, not in Ha Long Bay, so it should open more services, because if it is only for sightseeing, it will be very difficult to attract tourists.
For decades, Doi Cave has been a place for wedding parties, dining and welcoming many international groups.
According to the People's Committee of Cam Pha City, the Ban Co mountain range located in the Vung Duc Relic and Scenic Landscape Area has a natural cave system with sparkling, magical rocks. The caves here were formed along with the history of the formation of Ha Long and Bai Tu Long bays. Including 2 Caves of Thien Dang and Long Van Caves belonging to the original relic; Doi Cave is not the original cave.

Through inspection, Vung Duc Scenic Area is currently managed by Vung Duc Tourism Company Limited to exploit according to regulations for attractions and tourist attractions (Having a certificate of land use rights; Certificate of business registration; Management records, monitoring of fire prevention and fighting and rescue activities to register electronic tickets according to current regulations and organizing ticket sales, listing ticket prices at the entrance gate of the attraction; arranging human resources to manage and serve as tour guides, cleaning to ensure environmental hygiene and conditions to ensure safety for visitors coming to visit).
The company is doing a good job of preserving the original state of the natural cave with the stone cages in Thien Dang Cave and Long Van Cave (according to the relic records established in 1999).
At Doi Cave, there are locations for selling drinking water, eating buffets, conferences, seminars, and games when visitors request and without affecting the original protection area of the relic (Tien Dang Cave, Long Van Cave).
Through inspection, Cam Pha City said that this company has not built or invested in any project since receiving it to organize exploitation from the previous unit.
Regarding Vung Duc Tourism Company Limited's signing of a cooperation contract with another company to organize activities at hang Doi, it is to create new tourism products.
Accordingly, this cave, which is hundreds of millions of years old, will be turned into a theater; open a double-decker bus tour to take tourists from Bai Chay and Ha Long to visit and admire the most beautiful coastal road in the country - the Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road - to the end point of the Vung Duc Relic and Scenic Landscape Area.
Currently, relevant units have submitted to the authorities a plan to organize light refreshment activities and organize cultural and artistic activities in Doi Cave. Accordingly, everything that was previously built in Doi Cave, including the toilet, will be demolished.
