On November 18, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong held a press conference to introduce the Hai Phong Television Stage program in December 2025 with the theme "Do Nhuan - The sound of life" on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of musician Do Nhuan's birth.
The press conference was attended by Associate Professor, Dr. Musician Do Hong Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam Literature and Arts Association - son of musician Do Nhuan; Mr. Nguyen Hai Binh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee; Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong; and representatives of relevant agencies and units.
Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: This is a meaningful cultural activity, not only to express gratitude for the huge musical contributions of the "thief" of the Vietnamese Revolutionary music industry, but also an important preparation step for Hai Phong city to join UNESCO's creative city network in the music field. Organizing the program not only shows Hai Phong City's gratitude for the contributions of musician Do Nhuan but also contributes to bringing traditional - revolutionary music closer to contemporary audiences. This is also a meaningful cultural activity of Hai Phong Television Stage in 2025, affirming the city's efforts in preserving and promoting traditional artistic values.

Speaking at the press conference, musician Do Hong Quan shared: My father was born on December 10, 1922, in Hoach Trach village, Thai Hoc commune, Binh Giang district, Hai Duong province (now Duong An commune, Hai Phong city). He left his hometown at a very young age and lived for many years in the port city of Hai Phong. In his music career, musician Do Nhuan has won awards such as: Second Class Independence Medal; Ho Chi Minh I Award (1996); Second Class Soldier Medal; Second Class Victory Medal.
Currently, his name is given to a street in Hanoi, going from Pham Van Dong street to Xuan Dinh diplomatic group area, next to Hoa Binh Park. Organizing a musician's night to celebrate his 103rd birthday in his hometown (now Hai Phong after the merger) has a special meaning not only for my family but also for music lovers in the city.
In particular, this art program is also an opening event for artistic activities of the City Conference and Performance Center with 1,500 seats, which made me very moved. I hope the music night will be a success, contributing to the journey to build the music city of Hai Phong" - musician Do Hong Quan shared.
According to the Organizing Committee of the "Do Nhuan - The Voice of Life" music night, the production crew includes: Director and conductor: Musician Do Hong Quan; Program host: Musician Duc Trinh; Music director: Musician Duc Tan; Art director: People's Artist Khanh Hoa; Artists participating in the performance: People's Artist Pham Phuong Thao, NSUT Duc Hoai, Lan Quynh, Thu Huyen, Khanh Ngoc... along with the artists of the Hai Phong Contemporary Arts Theater.
The program will take place on December 6, 2025 at the Hai Phong City Conference and Exhibition Center, Tran Kien Street, Thuy Nguyen Ward, Hai Phong.
The program is not only an activity to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the late musician's birth, but also an opportunity for today's audience to understand more deeply about a generation of golden artists, who have contributed to shaping the face of Vietnamese music for decades, so that the public can enjoy and feel the lasting value of the music he left behind - the sounds that have become an indispensable part of the cultural and artistic treasure of Vietnam.
