Attending the program were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Anh, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of departments, branches, and localities inside and outside the province.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Vice Chairwoman of Mu Cang Chai District People's Committee Luong Thi Xuyen emphasized that the Khen Mong Festival and the To Day Flower Festival have important significance, and are an opportunity for Mu Cang Chai District to enhance promotional activities, introduce the potential strengths, natural beauty, and people of the highland land, contributing to attracting tourists to visit and experience all four seasons of the year.
"The highlight of the opening ceremony is the art program with the theme "Flower flute dance". The program includes 3 chapters: Thanh am and Dai ngan, Ve mien le hoi, Mu Cang Chai - aspiration to reach far with elaborately and magnificently staged performances, with the participation of famous artists and professional and non-professional singers and actors" - said the Vice Chairman of Mu Cang Chai District People's Committee.
The performances depicted the unique features of ethnic cultural identities, highlighted the beauty of To Day flowers, Mu Cang Chai terraced fields, and the crystallization of festival culture, the quintessence of the Northwest identity in general and Mu Cang Chai district in particular.
The official opening program opens a series of diverse activities, imbued with identity, bringing attractive and meaningful experiences to tourists and people of Mu Cang Chai such as displaying, introducing, selling local agricultural products, recreating Mong cultural space, Mong flute competition and cultural activities, and the art photo exhibition "Sac Tham Hoa To Day".
At the program, the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council awarded the Certificate of Vietnam Heritage Tree recognition to 4 trees, belonging to 2 families including 1 po mu tree and 3 ironwood trees in Na Hang village, Che Tao commune for Mu Cang Chai district.
At the same time, the Copyright Office, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, granted a certificate of copyright registration for traditional festivals to Mu Cang Chai district.
This work is of great significance, helping to affirm the tourism brand and unique, characteristic tourism products of Mu Cang Chai. This is also a recognition of the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in the district in preserving and promoting cultural values, enlivening the spiritual life of the community, creating new and attractive tourism products, aiming at the development of green and sustainable tourism, gradually completing the goal of building Mu Cang Chai into a tourist district, a destination of "Identity - Safety - Friendliness".
On this occasion, Mu Cang Chai district also awarded prizes to the Mu Cang Chai district logo design contest and the "Beautiful Son Tra Photos" contest to the authors.
