Where did the journey become your ao dai designer? Is an accidental turning step or is the fate of being "needle" from childhood?
The passion for the long dress has soaked into my blood since I was still in the cradle. My family for three generations for sewing, grandmother, mother and aunt, are all skillful women, giving their whole life to each seam, folding.
Growing up in the sound of the sewing machine, the smell of new fabric and the light of the night light when my mother worked hard to measure the shape of the shirt, my hand was accustomed to the ruler, scissors. At that time, I did not know that it was karma, only knowing that I love strangely.
Over time, that love is even more clear. Therefore, I decided to choose to study professional fashion design. Each sketch, every needle line is like continuing to desire since childhood.

As the son of Kien Giang land, what else made him choose Hanoi as an anchoring place?
Incidentally, in a time when Hanoi supported the 1,000 -year anniversary program of Thang Long - Hanoi in 2010, I was in charge of image and costume support for more than 300 models participating in the parade.
Although not the main designer, but the ao dai I brought was impressed by the exquisite integration of Vietnamese cultural motifs. From there, many people began to know me, encouraging me to bring my ao dai to Hanoi people.
Upon receiving the encouragement of friends and colleagues, I decided to go to the North, to start a foreign land alone. After only one month, I launched the first collection of ao dai named Thu Hanoi, like the heart of the traveler who pleased to be elegant and quiet of the land of thousands of years of civilization.
It was also a milestone for the journey full of shaking with the national ao dai that I always preserved today.
What in Hanoi held his soul, so that the land of thousands of years became an endless source of inspiration in the collections of ao dai he created?
From the first time I arrived in Hanoi, I fell in love with this place. In the midst of modern spin, Hanoi still gently breathed with each time of mossy tile roofs, taciturn trees, sounds that echoed memories, historical traces that still imprinted the traces of time ...
The elegance, the background of Trang An people seem to penetrate each corner of the street, bricks, making Hanoi quietly but deep, like a long dress: discreet, gentle but enough to move the soul.
Therefore, almost every collection I made around Hanoi: collection of Hanoi, Vietnamese souls, sacred souls of mountains and rivers, thousands of years of Thang Long ...
Each ao dai is also a passionate gratitude to the land that has silently spread arms around the Southern son who go back to the North to settle down.

As a traditional costume, ao dai with a soul and national identity, a rich symbol of Vietnamese cultural values. When designing a long dress, what makes the guideline in his creative thinking and professionalism?
When designing, for me, the most sacred thing is to preserve and appreciate the delicate and gentle beauty of the shirt. Creativity is an indispensable factor in the profession, but I always believe that creativity must be implemented in a sophisticated and conscious way, because at that time, the new long dress really kept the inherent soul, not lost in the overwhelming of the times.
Each ao dai is a deep story, containing the historical layers, culture and souls of Vietnamese people. I want each ao dai not only to be an outfit, but a sacred bridge between the past and the present, a durable string that connects traditional values through each needle and thread.
Having been recognized by UNESCO Vietnam Union because of the outstanding contributions to keeping and spreading the Vietnamese ao dai heritage by 2023. So according to him, now, among the countless fashion trends and long dresses standing in contemporary flow?
Over 30 years of working with ao dai with love and commitment, I am honored to be recorded in many forms of commendation for contributing to the journey to preserve and spread this heritage. Although living and studying for many years abroad, contacting with countless modern costumes, I realized that the ao dai is a simple masterpiece, proud and proud.
No need to draw sophisticatedly, do not take much time to prepare, the ao dai still helps Vietnamese women shine with elegance, charm and attractive. Perhaps that is why the ao dai has naturally daily life such as breathing, gentle but deep, simple but lasting.
For me, ao dai is part of a memory, a cultural imprint, a silent pride in every Vietnamese soul, especially a woman.
