On the afternoon of July 27, at the National Relic Da Lat Children's Prison (Lam Vien ward - Da Lat), the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center in coordination with the Lam Dong Provincial Museum organized the exhibition "Hoi An - From patriotic revolutionary tradition to World Cultural Heritage - Global Creative City".
The activity takes place to celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), aiming to educate revolutionary traditions, foster patriotism and national pride for the young generation.
The exhibition introduces 30 panels, images, documents and artifacts about historical sites, including Hoi An Prison; and at the same time promotes the unique cultural and tourist values of Hoi An ancient town.
According to the organizers, from the beginning of the 20th century to 1975, there were three prisons in Hoi An, including Faifo Prison, Thong Dang Prison and Hoi An Prison (Xom Moi Prison). This was once a place to detain many revolutionary soldiers and political prisoners in Quang Nam and the Central region.
Historically, Hoi An and Da Lat have been associated through revolutionary struggle movements, especially the struggle of Hoi An patriotic teenagers imprisoned at Da Lat Children's Prison in the period 1971 - 1973.
In addition to the display space, the program also organizes experiential activities such as making Hoi An lanterns, drawing paper masks and introducing folk art, contributing to promoting cultural heritage and attracting people and tourists to visit.
