Candidates strive to keep up with the labor market
As part of a series of events to support candidates in finding jobs, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center organized a "Supporting Workers" location last weekend. The program attracted a large number of participants, including Nguyen Hoang Nam (22 years old, a student at Ho Chi Minh City Open University). Mr. Nam shared: "Yesterday I read the newspaper and learned about a large-scale recruitment program, so I decided to come here in the hope of finding a job that suits my IT major".
Not only students, but also discharged young people take advantage of this opportunity to orient their careers. Mr. Nguyen Van Kien (Cu Chi district) after his discharge from the army worked as a technology driver and learned more about motorbike repair. Knowing that the program would support employment for discharged youth, Kien joined with the desire to find a stable job. I have heard advice about some professions, but am still considering which job is suitable. For discharged youth like me, programs like this are very meaningful and valuable.
HCMC aims to connect jobs for 10,000 workers
The program "Supporting workers" and " Recruitment and Employment Day" in 2025 implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center in coordination with relevant units have become an important bridge between businesses and workers over the past 15 years. This year, the program is expanding its scale to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1930 - March 26, 2025) and respond to the "Youth Month" 2025.
With the participation of more than 80 businesses, the program provides more than 10,000 job positions in many fields such as banking, finance, business, unskilled labor... It is expected that more than 7,000 candidates will apply.
The program also coordinated with more than 30 units of the Central Youth Union Employment Service Center system and Youth Union provinces and cities across the country to support consultation, communication and organize free transportation to pick up and drop off workers from provinces to Ho Chi Minh City for job.
During the Youth Month, consulting and recruitment activities will take place at the offices of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center, especially at major bus stations such as Mien Dong, Mien Tay, An Suong and Nga Tu Ga Bus Stations. The program also had the participation of nearly 200 volunteers who are union members and young people.
A new feature of this year's program is cooperation with hospitals and health centers to support free health check-ups, helping workers complete their application documents. The program also cooperates with universities, colleges and large enterprises to implement essential vocational skills training courses.
In addition to recruitment, the program also organizes seminars and discussions on future career trends, helping workers equip themselves with additional soft skills to adapt to the changing labor market.
Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center - Mr. Nguyen Van Sang - emphasized: "We not only help workers find jobs but also equip them with the necessary skills to develop a sustainable career. Organizing seminars, health consultations and vocational training will help workers feel more confident when entering a competitive labor market".
