According to statistics, in August, the markets receiving Lao Cai workers include: Korea 8 people, Japan 22 people, Taiwan (China) 14 people and other markets 4 people.
Accumulated from the beginning of the year, the number of workers going to Japan reached 211 people; South Korea 242 people; Taiwan (China) 161 people and other markets 53 people.
Along with sending workers to work abroad, the Department of Home Affairs has coordinated with localities to receive and appraise legal documents of service- oriented enterprises, and at the same time notify, consult, and select workers.
In August alone, 3 enterprises registered to recruit workers in the area, bringing the total number of enterprises registered in the first 8 months of the year to 23 units.
Notably, Lao Cai province has promoted seasonal labor cooperation with Korea. The Department of Home Affairs has signed two cooperation agreements with the Social Inclusion Management Agency (Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Korea), the Jeollanam-do Provincial Office and the government of Goryeong District (North Gyeongsang Province).
After signing, the cooperation program with Goryeong district was implemented, opening up opportunities for many local workers. In particular, the agreement with the Social Inclusion Management Agency cannot be implemented due to procedures on the side of the Korean district government.
In September, it is expected that 65 workers of the province will leave for Korea to work seasonally, mainly from the communes of Viet Hong, Tran Yen, Yen Binh, Hanh Phuc, Khanh Hoa, Luc Yen...
In parallel with the selection work, the province also pays attention to policies to support workers.
By the end of August, Lao Cai Social Policy Bank branch had disbursed more than 10 billion VND to 126 workers who borrowed capital to work abroad.
Along with that, 36 workers were also supported with initial costs (passports, visas, health check-ups, etc.) with a total amount of over 147 million VND.
In the coming time, the Department of Home Affairs will continue to increase information, consultation, selection, and at the same time review labor export demand in each locality.
The province will also send a working delegation to Korea to promote the implementation of signed cooperation agreements, while grasping the situation of Lao Cai workers working in the neighboring country.
Sending workers to work abroad not only contributes to solving employment and increasing income for people but also creates a source of skilled and experienced human resources, serving local socio-economic development when they return.
