Ho Chi Minh City - Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just announced 12 outstanding milestones reflecting the comprehensive and breakthrough development picture of the city in 2025.

1. Merging HCMC, Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and implementing a 2-level local government model

From July 1, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City officially expands its development space with the merger of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

This is a historical turning point in space organization, urban governance and regional linkage. On a new platform, the city established a 3-region - 1 special zone - 3 corridors - 5 pillars development model.
