124,000 customers affected by storm No. 4 are restored to power

Tuyết Lan |

EVNNPC has restored power supply to nearly 66% of customers whose power supply was interrupted due to the impact of storm No. 4 (Narra).

Storm No. 4 (Narra) caused heavy rain, flooding and disrupted power supply to nearly 189,000 customers in Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An and Ninh Binh.

By 7:00 PM on August 24, nearly 124,000 customers had power restored; Quang Ninh, Nghe An and Thai Nguyen have completed the restoration work.

Also according to updated data up to 7 pm on the same day, the 500kV, 220kV and 110kV power systems have not recorded any incidents due to the impact of storm No. 4. Damage to medium and low voltage power grids in localities is still being continuously inspected and statistically analyzed by units.

In some areas of Bac Ninh, Lang Son, Hai Phong and Ninh Binh, deep flooding, river water continuing to rise or traffic being cut off are causing difficulties in accessing the scene. Electricity units maintain 24/24 hour duty, closely monitor weather and water levels, and at the same time organize inspections and handle incidents to restore power supply to customers as soon as safety conditions permit.

EVNNPC has requested units to focus manpower, vehicles and supplies in areas still without power; prioritize restoring important loads and restoring power to people as soon as possible, on the principle of ensuring absolute safety for task forces and the community.

For 7 hydropower reservoirs in the Northwest and Northeast regions (Hoa Binh, Son La, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang, Lai Chau, Thac Ba, Tuyen Quang); the upstream water level of all reservoirs is lower than the normal water level (MNDBT), no reservoir has exceeded the threshold. Hoa Binh, Thac Ba, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang, Lai Chau reservoirs are regulating discharge, the largest discharge flow at Hoa Binh reservoir is about 1,689 m3/s; Son La, Tuyen Quang reservoirs have not yet discharged. The downstream area of the reservoirs is still being ensured to be safe.
