Hai Phong - Cat Hai Special Zone Police are urgently supporting people to overcome the consequences of flooding due to the impact of storm No. 4.

Due to the impact of storm No. 4 circulation combined with high tide, on August 24, many residential areas and key roads in Cat Hai special zone were deeply flooded from 40-60 cm, seriously affecting people's lives and traffic.

Implementing the direction of the Special Zone People's Committee and the Command of Cat Hai Special Zone Police, 100% of officers and soldiers of the Special Zone Police promptly were on duty, present in key areas to deploy response and rescue work. The Special Zone Police also surveyed and blocked dangerous areas such as organizing traffic diversion, erecting warning signs on deeply flooded roads, especially the section from Cat Ba National Park to Gia Luan village (submerged nearly 50 cm), and resolutely prevented people and vehicles from entering unsafe areas.

In addition, the Special Zone Police coordinated with border guards and military forces to go to each household in heavily flooded areas on Cat Ba Island (Phu Long, Viet Hai, Hai Son, Gia Luan, Cat Ba residential group) and Cat Hai Island (Hoang Chau, Ninh Tiep, Don Luong) to support the relocation of people and property to safe shelters.

With the core role of ensuring security and order, the special zone police strengthen patrols, protect people's property in areas to be relocated; coordinate with local authorities to support food and necessities for households that have to temporarily leave their homes. At the same time, it is recommended that people absolutely comply with the instructions of functional forces, do not arbitrarily pass through deeply flooded road sections, and proactively monitor weather developments to ensure maximum safety for themselves and their families.
