16 forest exploiters trapped due to floods have reached safe locations

HUE - 16 people working in the forest trapped due to heavy rain in the Rao Trang area have contacted the authorities and moved to a safe place.

On the afternoon of November 17, Mr. Tran Xuan Anh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dien Commune (Hue City) said that the authorities had connected with a group of 16 people going to the forest isolated by heavy rain. All are safe.

According to Mr. Anh, groups of people going to the forest often follow the group and bring enough food to eat for a long time. After being contacted, the authorities instructed the group to move to a high location and set up a temporary hut for safe shelter.

"Currently, there is a phone signal in the area. If they need support, they will contact the authorities and we are always ready to respond" - Mr. Anh said.

Pay attention to communication and mobilization in low-lying areas, places with many new students and residents, lacking information and skills in flood prevention; preventing accidents and injuries before, during and after floods.

Urgently repair and promptly repair landslides and damaged areas, ensuring smooth and safe traffic as soon as possible, especially on main traffic routes and arterial routes.

According to functional units, hydropower and irrigation reservoirs in the city are currently full of water. Due to the continuous heavy rain, the water level of rivers in the area continued to rise, causing flooding in the downstream areas; many locations in the mountainous areas of Nam Dong and A Luoi communes... were flooded and landslides. In the coming days, the flood situation is forecast to continue to be complicated. Therefore, people need to proactively respond to reduce the damage caused by floods.
