Understanding the insecurity of the people, Lao Cai province has implemented a project to stabilize the population of natural disasters in Dat Chai B village.
In mid-September, present at the construction site of a resettlement area for people in the border village of That Chai B, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper noted the bustling construction activities.
After the rain stopped and took advantage of the sunny weather, large-capacity machines are constructing embankments. Along with that, many workers have started making concrete components.

Through research, the project to arrange and stabilize the population of the disaster village of Dat Chai B has a total investment of 18 billion VND. Capital from the provincial budget, the old Muong Khuong district budget and other capital.
The project is invested by the Muong Khuong Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The new resettlement area was built on an area of about 1.7 hectares, arranged for about 45 households. With many items such as traffic routes; water supply for daily use; electricity supply for daily use; village cultural house; embankment construction...

Mr. Ly A De (a resident of Muong Khuong commune) shared: "Every time there is a flood or the impact of storms, people have to evacuate because of the high risk of landslides that directly threaten their lives. Therefore, people really hope that the resettlement areas will be completed soon to move to build houses, escape the lurking natural disaster situation".
Local people hope to soon move to a new resettlement area so that their lives are no longer uncertain and they have to evacuate every rainy and flood season.

Mr. Bui Sy Ngoc - Director of the Muong Khuong Construction Investment Project Management Board said that after the investor resolved some problems in site clearance, the contractor is currently implementing construction. Up to this point, the construction volume has reached 16% compared to the contract progress.
However, according to Mr. Ngoc, the construction is still facing difficulties due to heavy rain, so they do not focus on synchronously implementing the items.


The investor regularly urges relevant contractors to focus on speeding up construction to complete the project, ensuring progress. It is expected that by December 30, 2025, there will be land to move residents from the landslide risk area to build houses to stabilize their lives," informed the Director of the Muong Khuong Construction Investment Project Management Board.
