2 key traffic projects worth 1,170 billion VND in Dong Nai
The project to build Huong Lo 2 extended road (section 1) with a 25m wide main road, passing through Long Hung commune and An Hoa commune in Bien Hoa city, nearly 2km long, starting at the intersection of National Highway 51, ending at the intersection with the existing asphalt concrete road (An Hoa - Long Hung), the recovered area is about 9.7ha, with a total investment of nearly 783 billion VND.
The Vam Cai Sut bridge project is also located on Huong Lo 2 route, connecting Long Hung commune and Tam Phuoc ward (Bien Hoa city) with a total investment of about 387 billion VND, newly invested in construction with a total length of about 649m, of which the bridge section is more than 450m long. The bridge has a width of 23.6m including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.
These two bridge and road projects are both key traffic projects of Dong Nai province, starting construction at the end of 2020.
Up to now, the contractor has completed the hot asphalt concrete road surface of the Huong Lo 2 extension project with a length of more than 1.3km/nearly 1.8km, reaching more than 78% of the contract value.
Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the upcoming Huong Lo 2 extension project will be connected to National Highway 51 to complete the first section, but is currently stuck with the 250m long land of households in Long Hung Commune, Bien Hoa City to build the remaining part of the An Hoa 2 bridge (also part of the Huong Lo 2 extension project). Currently, the contractor has just completed the construction of the An Hoa 2 bridge, pier M1 and 2 piers P1, P2.
According to a representative, the delay in completing projects leads to the delay in disbursing public investment capital, which also risks wasting investment resources.
Mr. Nguyen Linh - Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Vam Cai Sut bridge project has been basically completed, the contractor is paving the asphalt road leading to Vam Cai Sut bridge in Tam Phuoc ward.
The bridge is completed but there is no connecting road.
The Vam Cai Sut Bridge project is expected to be completed in December 2024. However, the road connecting Vam Cai Sut Bridge to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has not yet been invested in, causing a risk of waste.
The Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board recommends that if the second section of the Huong Lo 2 Project is not invested in early, the Vam Cai Sut Bridge, when completed and put into use, will not be able to function because there is no connecting road to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
The goal of forming a traffic route connecting Bien Hoa City (Dong Nai) with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and reducing pressure on National Highway 51 is difficult to achieve.
According to the design, section 2 of Huong Lo 2 is about 5.7km long (including 2 branches) connecting from the border of Long Hung commune to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway.
In April 2024, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province sent a document to the Department of Planning and Investment regarding the implementation of the Huong Lo 2 Project extending the section from Vam Cai Sut bridge to the intersection with Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
On November 11, the People's Council of Dong Nai province issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to urgently review projects on Huong Lo 2 route and soon have a plan to invest in connecting the entire route in accordance with legal regulations and the actual situation of the locality. From there, promote the effectiveness of project investment and avoid wasting state capital.
