2 women in Lao Cai were electrocuted to death

While visiting the fields, two women in Lang Giang commune, Van Ban district (Lao Cai) were electrocuted to death.

On the evening of September 26, the leader of the People's Committee of Lang Giang commune informed that an electric shock accident had just occurred in the area, killing 2 people.

At noon of the same day, the authorities of Lang Giang commune received a report from the people about someone being electrocuted to death in the fields of Na Bay village.

Immediately afterwards, the local authorities sent people down to inspect and report the incident to the leaders of Van Ban district.

Through inspection, the two deceased victims were Ms. Hoang Thi Kinh (born in 1988) and Ms. Luong Thi Huong (born in 1993), both residing in Na Bay village.

Regarding the above incident, a representative of Lao Cai Electricity Company informed that on the morning of September 26, Ms. Luong Thi Huong went to visit the fields in the Na Bay village area, across the field bank there was a power line from behind the meter to Mr. Hoang Van Dung's house connected to the power pole No. 1.18, Highway 1, 0.4kV, after the Na Bay Transformer Station.

The electric pole supporting the wire behind Mr. Dung's meter is made of iron, about 4 meters high, erected by the family and buried next to the rice field. The electric wire uses 2 single aluminum wires with a scratched and damaged insulation, causing the insulation to press against the iron part of the electric pole, causing an accident.

While moving across the rice field, Ms. Luong Thi Huong held onto an iron pole, resulting in an electric shock accident. After Ms. Huong fell, Ms. Hoang Thi Kinh and her son P.T.P (born in 2016) passed by and saw Ms. Huong lying on the rice field bank, so they went down to see.

When touching Ms. Huong, Ms. Kinh was also electrocuted to death, Ms. Kinh's son was burned on the hand and was taken to Van Ban district hospital for treatment by local people.

It is known that recently, storm No. 3 has greatly affected the power grid of Lao Cai province, causing hundreds of power poles and many power lines in the area to fall and be damaged.

Therefore, it is possible that the power line was damaged during the recent flood but was not detected in time, leading to the unfortunate accident mentioned above.
