Information from the Bac Gianh commune government said that at around 1:00 p.m. on November 19, Mr. Pham H and his wife, Ms. Mai Thi T, were casting a net on the Gianh River, passing through Con stat residential area (Bac Gianh ward), when suddenly a strong wind overturned the boat. Mrs. T was able to swim to shore by herself, while her husband is currently missing.
Immediately afterwards, the People's Committee of Bac Gianh Ward mobilized about 100 people including the Police, Military, rescue forces and local people to search along the Gianh River.
As of late afternoon, the search had not yet had results. The forces are continuing to expand the search area while also focusing on ensuring the safety of people and vehicles participating in the search.
