On the afternoon of March 2nd, information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), on March 1st, the Traffic Police force of 34/34 localities simultaneously launched a campaign to handle the topic of alcohol concentration violations according to the order of the Director of the Traffic Police Department.
In two hours 10:00–14:00 and 7:00–23:00, functional forces controlled 62,772 vehicle trips, including: 2,513 passenger cars, 2,838 trucks, 13,442 cars, 42,311 motorbikes, 1,678 rudimentary vehicles and other means of transport, 1 specialized car.
Through inspection, traffic police discovered and made records to handle 2,266 cases of alcohol concentration violations (4 truck drivers, 24 cars, 2,148 motorbikes, 90 rudimentary vehicles and other vehicles).
In addition, functional forces handled many other related violations, such as: 783 cases without driver's licenses; 627 cases without vehicle registration; 76 cases without rearview mirrors... Traffic police have temporarily seized 2,266 vehicles, and revoked 261 driver's licenses.
According to the Traffic Police Department, during peak hours of control, no traffic accidents related to alcohol concentration occurred.
The simultaneous control at the same time nationwide will be maintained regularly and continuously, including holidays, in order to gradually form the habit of "if you have drunk alcohol and beer, don't drive".
