In the afternoon of September 1st, the fourth day of National Day holiday September 2nd, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT), Ministry of Public Security, informed about the traffic accident (TNGT) situation nationwide.
Accordingly, the whole country recorded 46 traffic accidents, killing 22, injuring 34 people, compared to the same period in 2025 (from 3:00 PM on August 31, 2025 to 3:00 PM on September 1, 2025), a decrease of 4 cases (-8.00%), a decrease of 8 deaths (-26.67%), and an increase of 1 injured person (+3.03%).
During the day, traffic accidents killed 22 people and injured 34 people all occurred on roads. Compared to the same period in 2025 (from 3:00 PM on August 31, 2025 to 3:00 PM on September 1, 2025), a decrease of 04 cases (-8.00%), a decrease of 8 deaths (-26.67%), and an increase of 1 injured person (+3.03%).
Also on the fourth holiday, the traffic police force nationwide (road, waterway, iron through the process of direct patrol and control, through the monitoring system, professional technical notification and information from mass media) discovered 20,093 cases, made records and handled 15,963 cases.
In which, through the monitoring system, 1,947 violations were detected (cold fine notices); 14 cases were recorded.
Through professional technical equipment, 2,004 violations were detected; 192 cases were recorded; the number of cases recorded by the Traffic Police Department and other local units detected and sent information for handling (including cases from previous times) is 37 cases.
Through receiving violation reports from the mass media and social networks, people provided 12 cases; made records of 10 cases.
Number of cases recorded directly during patrol and control:
On roads, local police discovered 15,941 violations, made records and handled 15,521 violations; temporarily seized 78 cars, 2,782 motorbikes, 326 other vehicles; revoked 291 driver's licenses of all kinds; deducted points from driver's licenses for 1,932 cases.
In which, handling violations of alcohol concentration 2,496 cases; speed violations 3,437 cases; carrying overloaded goods 57 cases; exceeding the limit size 26 cases; arbitrarily renovating vehicles 1 case; carrying more people than prescribed 108 cases; picking up and dropping off passengers in the wrong places 4 cases; using phones and other electronic devices while driving vehicles 164 cases.
Expressway Traffic Patrol and Control Teams under the Traffic Police Department have conducted a total of 1,852 vehicles, detected and made records of 164 cases, and fined an estimated 645.1 million VND.
In which, the results of the overtaking lane pilot: Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 organized mobile patrols and controls on the Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway without recording vehicles moving continuously on lane 1 (the lane according to the policy of the Traffic Police Department is a dedicated lane for overtaking), without giving way to other vehicles signaling to overtake.
Road Traffic Police Team No. 3: The volume of vehicles participating in traffic is increasing, traffic police teams are deploying traffic diversion and regulation plans to serve people moving during the September 2nd holiday, so the pilot overtaking lane is not implemented.
The results recorded that no violations of the act of "Not complying with regulations on safe distance for vehicles running in front of each other on the expressway" were detected.
