On the afternoon of November 3, when the water level of the Huong River rose, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company decided to move 2 trains carrying stone on Bach Ho and Da Vien bridges (Hue City) to protect the structure of the two railway bridges from the risk of floodwaters.
According to records, at 2:00 p.m. the same day, the water of the Huong River had touched the bottom of the bridge girder. The Railway sector has a train of 18 carriages (11 carriages carrying lion manure, 7 carriages carrying boulders) across Bach Ho bridge. Another train pulled 7 carriages carrying stone to guard Da Vien bridge. The total cargo on the two trains is about 474 tons, helping to increase the load, stabilizing the structure of the two bridges.
This is the third time in the past week that the Railway industry has had to bring a stone-carried cargo ship to the border of these two bridges. Previously, on the afternoon of October 27 and the evening of October 29, when the water of the Huong River rose near the dam bottom, Binh Tri Thien Railway Joint Stock Company had implemented similar measures twice.
