On June 2nd, functional units of Thu Dau Mot ward said that the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of the ward had received 4 rare peacock individuals voluntarily handed over by people to carry out rescue, care and conservation according to regulations.
Through verification, the 4 individuals handed over by people are peacocks (yellow-cheeked peacocks), belonging to group IB - a group of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals prioritized for protection. These are animals on the list of animals strictly prohibited from exploitation, hunting, transportation, trading and illegal captivity in any form according to the provisions of law.
After receiving it, the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Thu Dau Mot ward transferred 4 peacock individuals to a licensed conservation unit for continued care, rescue and management according to regulations.

According to the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot ward, the people's handover of 4 precious peacock individuals contributes to raising community awareness about wildlife protection, preserving biodiversity, balancing ecosystems and preserving precious gene sources for future generations.
