Handing over monitor lizards and rare monkeys to release back into nature

Ha Tinh - After catching rare animal individuals, people handed them over to functional agencies to release them back to Vu Quang National Park.

On the morning of June 2nd, information from Dong Tien commune said that in the afternoon of June 1st, Dong Tien Commune People's Committee coordinated with Thach Ha Forest Protection Department and commune police to receive a salamander individual voluntarily handed over by people.

This salamander weighs about 5kg, caught by Mr. Phan Trong Hoa (residing in Bac Van village, Dong Tien commune) in his family's garden.

Realizing that this is a wild animal that needs to be protected, Mr. Hoa proactively handed it over to the local government and functional agencies to release it back into nature.

Also on the afternoon of June 1st, Can Loc Forest Protection Department coordinated with the Xuan Loc commune government to receive a golden monkey individual handed over by Ms. Than Thi Tan (residing in Yen Lap village, Xuan Loc commune).

This monkey weighs about 3kg, has the scientific name Macaca mulatta, and belongs to group IIB in the list of endangered and rare forest animals.

It is known that during the gardening process, Ms. Than Thi Tan's family caught the rare monkey mentioned above.

After receiving it, officials of Vu Quang National Park will continue to care for and then release this golden monkey back to its natural environment.
