According to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper on March 25, at the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project, many workers are still working hard on the construction of items of the 6 project packages.
Working at the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project site, Mr. Le Minh Thao said that recently, the weather has been favorable, and workers have been working in 3 shifts and 4 teams to bring the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project to the finish line as soon as possible.
"Currently, the team of workers are working busily, the atmosphere at the construction site is very urgent and excited to complete on schedule," said Mr. Thao.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - a construction worker at the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project - shared: With the spirit of effort in construction, the workers always take advantage of and quickly eat a bowl of rice to complete the project on April 30, 2025 and strive to complete the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project on the occasion of the National Day holiday in 2025".
Information from the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project Management Board said that the project has been completed over 80.84, exceeding the general progress by more than 4%, while the main bridge - Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is exceeding the planned progress by more than 15%.
Up to this point, the entire route has been constructed for 14/14km (100%), about 7.8/9.8km is being unloaded and the entire route (including the road and bridge on the route) on the Ben Tre side will be completed before June 30, 2025.
The bridge section on the route has completed 4/6 bridges (Xoai Hot bridge, My Tho bridge, Tam Son bridge and Ba Lai bridge), the remaining 2 bridges are under construction (Rach Mieu 2 main bridge and Song Ma bridge). Of which, Song Ma bridge will be completed in June 2025.
As for the main bridge (Rach Mieu 2 bridge), 100% of the P19 & P20 tower body was completed on October 24, 2024. The bridge deck has completed 11/14 main bridge deck casting blocks, is currently constructing 12/14 girder blocks and has installed 96/112 cable-stayed bundles.
"It is expected that the main cable-stayed bridge will be closed on April 30, 2025, and it is expected that the entire bridge on the route will be completed on June 30, 2025 and the approach road will be basically completed. It is expected that the entire project will be completed by September 2, 2025," informed the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project Management Board.
According to the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project Management Board, every day, at this project site, the units continue to maintain construction in 3 shifts and 4 teams (with a total of about 30 construction teams, about 150 equipment teams, 500 workers and 83 technical staff).
The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project has a starting point at the intersection between National Highway 1 and Provincial Road 870 in Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province, and an end point connecting to National Highway 60 at the Ham Luong Bridge approach road in Ben Tre Province. This project has a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 80km/h, expected to be completed in 2025. When the Rach Mieu Bridge project is completed, it will contribute to reducing traffic congestion at the existing Rach Mieu Bridge.
