Hai Phong - March 4th, May 5th. 100 outstanding Hai Phong youth set off to perform military service and participate in the people's police force.

The 2026 military service handover and reception ceremony in Hai Phong city was held at 10 locations according to commune, ward, and special zone clusters, ensuring solemnity, unity and compliance with regulations. In a solemn atmosphere, the military service drum sounded loudly, the traditional fire was lit, city and local leaders presented flowers, gifts, and sent congratulations and encouragements to the new recruits to maintain their bravery and promote the heroic homeland tradition of Hai Phong.

In 2026, Hai Phong city is assigned the target of selecting and calling 5,100 male citizens to enlist and perform the obligation to participate in the People's Police, handing over to 18 key units under the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 3. The quality of military recruitment work this year continues to be clearly improved. The rate of young people with type 1 and type 2 health reached 72%; young people aged 18 to 21 accounted for over 72%. The educational level and technical expertise of enlisted citizens were improved, of which young people graduating from colleges and universities accounted for 14.4%.

Notably, the whole city has more than 1,500 young people writing applications to volunteer to enlist, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year, showing the spirit of responsibility, self-awareness and determination of youth towards the task of building and protecting the Fatherland. The above results affirm the synchronous and drastic involvement of Party committees, authorities, and Military Service Councils at all levels in implementing the work of selecting and calling citizens to enlist, ensuring publicity, democracy, lawfulness and completing 100% of the assigned targets.

To ensure that the troop handover day takes place solemnly and safely, localities have proactively and strictly implemented steps from managing sources, preliminary selection, medical examination to personnel checkpoints; and at the same time organized many meetings, giving gifts, and encouraging new recruits and their families before departure.
