77 projects, investment capital of nearly 1.8 million billion VND
The information was announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction on the afternoon of January 16, at the Conference to summarize the work in 2025 and deploy key tasks and solutions for 2026.
According to the Department of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued an Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
In which, transport infrastructure development is identified as one of the breakthrough programs, with the goal of basically completing the framework transport system by 2030, strengthening inter-regional connectivity and prioritizing the development of urban railways associated with the TOD model.
The list of key projects of the program includes 77 projects, with a total investment of nearly 1.8 million billion VND. Including 11 urban railway projects, 51 road projects, 14 technical infrastructure projects and 1 waterway project.
The group of projects under construction includes 11 projects, with a total investment of about 129,986 billion VND, including 6 road projects and 5 technical infrastructure projects.
The group of projects that have been approved for investment policy and are preparing projects includes 29 projects, with a total capital of about 1,045,196 billion VND. In this group, there are 9 urban railway projects, 17 road projects and 3 technical infrastructure projects.
Ho Chi Minh City is preparing dossiers to propose investment policies for 31 works and projects, with a total capital of about 256,741 billion VND, including 26 road projects, 4 technical infrastructure projects and 1 waterway project.
There are still 6 projects in the research and investment proposal stage, with a total capital of about 269,690 billion VND, including 3 road projects, 1 technical infrastructure project and 2 urban railway projects.
Starting construction in 2026, completing many large projects
Regarding the key tasks for 2026, the Department of Construction said that Ho Chi Minh City will continue to focus on advising and accelerating the progress of key projects, playing a leading role in urban development and regional linkages.
In 2026, Ho Chi Minh City has started and will start construction of about 14 large projects, typically such as: Ring Road 4; Phu My 2 bridge; Can Gio bridge; Thu Thiem 4 bridge; sea crossing connecting Can Gio area with Vung Tau; 4 BOT projects National Highway 1, 13, 22, North - South axis road; Binh Tien road bridge...

At the same time, the city strives to complete about 10 important projects, including: Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, An Phu intersection, My Thuy intersection, pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River...
