Started on March 29, 2025, the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River has now reached more than halfway through construction. According to reporters' records on January 5, 2026, the appearance of this symbolic project has gradually become clear in the middle of the river.
In the flow center area, the contractor has mobilized heavy mechanical equipment such as barges and large axle cranes to focus on carrying out the stage of drilling piles for the main tower pillar.

To serve the construction work, a temporary overpass system has also been established to help engineers and workers get in and out of the construction site conveniently. In parallel, the access bridge and bridgehead roads on the Saigon ward bank are being accelerated in construction progress for the platform and pier body. These are considered key components, not only determining durability and safety but also ensuring overall aesthetics for the entire project.

On the construction site today, the working atmosphere is always bustling with the presence of dozens of officials, engineers and skilled workers. Along with more than 10 specialized construction equipment operating throughout, the project is being strictly controlled to ensure that there are no technical errors as well as the set schedule.

With a total length of 400 m and a width of 4.5 m, the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River possesses a unique design inspired by the shape of water coconut leaves - a familiar image of the Southern region. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture assesses this as a unique architectural plan, never duplicated, promising to create a special attraction for people and tourists.
The highlight of the bridge is not only the soft, slightly curved steel structure but also the modern art lighting system and unique circular waterfalls.

This project with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND is expected to become a cultural brick, connecting the historical space of District 1 (formerly) with the dynamism of Thu Duc City (formerly). It is expected that the project will be officially inaugurated on the occasion of the anniversary of April 30, 2026.
