On July 29, Da Nang City People's Committee approved the investment policy for the project to renovate and expand Passenger Terminal T1 of Da Nang International Airport. Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) is the investor.
The project has a total capital of over 11,282 billion VND, using entirely the legal capital of the investor. The expansion part alone is worth about 9,936 billion VND.
After renovation and expansion, the total floor area of Terminal T1 reaches about 96,000m2. The project also includes elevated bridges, technical areas, wastewater treatment stations, high-rise parking lots combined with commercial services, transportation systems and parking lots.
The total land use demand is about 165,009m2, of which more than 122,832m2 is the area being used and about 42,176m2 is being expanded and adjusted.
The project is implemented in 41 months. According to the plan, the expansion is expected to start construction in August 2027, be completed and put into operation in January 2029. The renovation of the existing terminal is expected to be completed in August 2029.
The expansion of Terminal T1 is to meet the increasing number of passengers, reduce the pressure on aviation infrastructure and improve the service capacity of Da Nang International Airport.
