In the days leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, in the remote mountains and forests of Son La, the program "Border Spring - Warming People's Hearts" organized by Chieng On Border Guard Station in coordination with local Party committees and authorities has brought the warmth of military-civilian affection, to make spring in the border region more complete.
From early morning, at Chieng On Commune Health Station and school sites, military medical officers and doctors organized medical examinations and free medicine distribution for hundreds of people and students.

Joy is evident on the faces of people in border areas who work hard all year round and have little time to take care of their own health.
In Dong Bau Primary and Secondary School alone, 321 primary school students were health checked and consulted on disease prevention during the severe cold days in the highlands.
Talking to PV, Mr. Vu Van Hung - Principal of the school said: "The school's students are mainly ethnic minority students, with difficult family circumstances, even some families do not have enough rice to eat, not enough clothes to wear.
The fact that students are examined and given free medicine right at school helps parents feel much more secure, especially for families in remote villages with difficult travel conditions.

This is a very meaningful activity, showing the practical concern of border guards for the health care of highland students," Mr. Hung said.
In parallel with medical activities, border guard officers and soldiers also support people in online passport procedures, border area passports, opening bank accounts, helping people gradually access essential administrative and financial services.

A humane highlight of the program is the "0-dong Tet Market" held at Dong Bau Secondary School.
Here, poor, near-poor households, and policy families are given free shopping vouchers for essential items to serve Tet activities.
Along with that, the Organizing Committee presented Tet gifts to 12 policy households and 77 poor and near-poor households in Cho Long, Phuong Quynh, Chieng Hung, Chieng Yen, Quynh Son villages.
As one of the households receiving gifts, Mr. Vi Van So (Trang Nam village, Yen Son commune) emotionally shared: "My family is very happy to have the attention and Tet gifts from the border guards and the government.
These gifts not only help us worry less in the days leading up to Tet, but also make people in the village clearly feel the warmth and closeness of soldiers in the border area.

The spring atmosphere is even more bustling with folk cultural and sports activities such as banh chung wrapping contests, banh day pounding, tug-of-war, stick pushing, and the cultural exchange program "Spring returns to the border" in the evening.
Singing and laughter echoed in the highland schoolyard.
Talking to PV, Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Canh, Deputy Political Commissar of Chieng On Border Guard Station shared that every year when Tet comes, spring returns, the border guard force deploys Tet care programs for people in border areas. Resources are all mobilized for socialization.

This is an opportunity for each officer and soldier to express their feelings and gratitude to ethnic minorities who have always stood shoulder to shoulder, loved, protected, and helped the border guard force in the cause of protecting territorial sovereignty and border security of the Fatherland.
The series of activities of the program not only has social security significance, but also creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere, contributing to further tightening the military-civilian relationship in remote border areas," Lieutenant Colonel Mai The Canh emphasized.
In the late winter cold of Son La mountains and forests, the program "Border Spring - Warming the hearts of villagers" has ignited an early spring, a spring of sharing, responsibility and strong affection in the Fatherland's fence.
