On the afternoon of August 11, the People's Committee of An Giang province held a meeting to prepare for the groundbreaking ceremony and inauguration of large-scale projects to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
According to the report of the Ministry of Construction, by August 7, the Ministry of Construction had compiled 235 projects and works of ministries, branches, localities, corporations and general companies in 34 provinces/cities that were eligible to start construction and inaugurate to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Of which, 149 projects and works were started; 86 projects and works were inaugurated with a total investment of VND 1,290,000 billion.
The Ministry of Construction would like to propose and select 80 locations for large-scale, meaningful projects and works, connecting with other works and projects under ministries, branches, provinces, cities, etc. In which, the central location is at the National Exhibition Center, directly and online connecting with the remaining large locations... The expected time is at 9:00 a.m. on August 19.
In An Giang province, the Provincial People's Committee plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Coastal Axis Road project to the center of Ha Tien city with a total investment of 1,400 billion VND. At the same time, 2 projects and works were inaugurated, including: the Regional Link Road project, the section from Tan Chau town to Chau Doc city, connecting with Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces with a total investment of VND 2,131 billion (project name, works kept unchanged after the merger); the An Giang Provincial Theater project with a total investment of VND 215 billion.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc requested departments, branches and sectors to coordinate and increase propaganda on the significance of 3 works and projects in An Giang province on 235 works and projects nationwide that were started and inaugurated to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 129/CD-TTg dated August 7, 2025 of the Prime Minister.
This is an important political event, contributing achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day. Newspapers and Radio and Television prepare live television conditions, connecting the An Giang Provincial Theater Bridge to the Central Bridge.
In addition, it is required that departments, branches, sectors and localities coordinate well, promptly resolve and handle issues; develop specific plans to ensure technology, technology, information systems, healthcare, electricity and water for the ceremony.
