On August 11, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the preparation for organizing activities to celebrate the 137th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1988 - August 20, 2025) and approved the Plan to organize activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho emphasized: to have a free and happy life like today, many heroes and martyrs have sacrificed their blood and bones to protect and build their homeland and country. Therefore, the important events organized not only have profound historical significance but are also an opportunity to arouse deep gratitude for the ancestral generation; expressing the pride of the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province in entering a new era, an era of national growth. At the same time, it is an activity to strengthen and protect the Party's ideological foundation.
Requesting all levels and sectors to continue to closely coordinate to complete tasks such as: developing scripts and programs for the Flower Offering Ceremony, and the Incense Offering Ceremony to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang.
Review and propose a list of delegates and guests attending; deploy the arrangement of reception and ceremony locations for the Flower Offering Ceremony and the Incense Offering Ceremony; prepare facilities; organize the implementation of the contents of the President Ton Duc Thang Monument Offering Ceremony (Long Xuyen Ward) and the Incense offering Ceremony at President Ton Duc Thang Temple (Memory Area of President Ton Duc Thang, My Hoa Hung Commune).
Organize propaganda on commemorative activities, widely promote to the public about commemorative activities; conduct propaganda reports on historical documents about Uncle Ton's life and career; innovation in Uncle Ton's hometown; deploy propaganda to encourage the visual display on main roads in Long Xuyen ward and in the President Ton Duc Thang Monument area; My Hoa Hung commune area and President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Area. Organize cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, exhibition displays, mobile film screenings... practically to celebrate the 137th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birth. The police and military forces will develop plans to ensure traffic safety and security during the events.
In addition, all levels and sectors are also urgently implementing plans to implement activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed on the theme of propaganda: "The spirit of the August Revolution and National Day 2.9 is immortal" with typical activities including: organizing visits to pre- resistance comrades and outstanding revolutionary veterans; Offering incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery; organizing art programs and fireworks; participating in the Exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the National Exhibition Center; organizing cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities, etc.
Organize the launching of patriotic emulation movements at all levels and sectors, action programs to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, to celebrate major holidays in 2025; choose to build celebrations associated with major holidays and important historical events of the country in 2025.
