The dispatch sent to the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen and relevant ministries stated that according to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at noon on June 24, 2025, the low pressure area in the North East Sea area has strengthened into a tropical depression (ATND). At 1:00 p.m. on June 24, 2025, the center of the tropical depression was at 16.0 degrees North latitude, 116.2 degrees East longitude, about 500km East Southeast of Hoang Sa archipelago, with the strongest wind at level 6, gusting to level 8. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 15-20km/h, wind level 6, gust level 8.
To proactively respond to the tropical depression, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment requested ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen to closely monitor the developments of the tropical depression; strictly manage vehicles going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the tropical depression to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous area in the next 24 hours: From 15.0-19.5 degrees North latitude, 112.0-117.0 degrees East longitude; in the next 48 hours: North latitude 16.5 and from 108.5-114.0 degrees East longitude (dangerous area adjusted in forecast bulletins).
Prepare forces and means for rescue when required. Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, the coastal information station system and mass media agencies from central to local levels increase information about the developments of tropical depressions to authorities at all levels, owners of vessels operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.
Ministries and branches, according to their functions, state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and coordinate with localities to respond to the tropical depression. The agency seriously and regularly reports to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control).
