At about 1:45 p.m. on July 10, a car with license plate 76A-110.97 was traveling on National Highway 1 in the South - North direction. When it reached the section passing through Mo Cay commune, Quang Ngai province, it collided with a tractor trailer with license plate 50H-893.27 traveling in the same direction.
The collision caused the car to be pushed by the tractor-trailer onto the median strip in the middle of the road and overturned. Three people in the car were trapped. Discovering the incident, people nearby quickly approached and tried to rescue the victims.
The three people in the car were taken out in a state of panic, with minor injuries. One victim said that they were on their way from Duc Pho to their home in My Khe when the incident occurred.
At the scene, the car's front end was severely damaged, caught between the tractor-trailer and the median strip. Many sections of the median strip were thrown into the opposite lane.
As of 2:30 p.m., the authorities of Quang Ngai province were still handling the scene and investigating the cause of the accident.
