On the afternoon of April 15, the Executive Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee approved the draft plan of arranging and reorganizing communal administrative units in the province.
During the meeting, the provincial People's Committee presented 3 draft options, with the following content will be 23; 30 or 31 communal administrative units (including Con Dao Special Area), the same expected name.
Mr. Pham Viet Thanh - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - requested the delegates to contribute their opinions in a practical direction, explaining the reasons for choosing the best option for all contents, including the names or headquarters of commune-level administrative units after the arrangement.
After discussing the proposed plans, the Provincial Party Executive Committee agreed to select the draft plan after the arrangement to 30 communal administrative units including: 11 wards, 18 communes, and 1 special zone Con Dao.
According to this plan, 47 communal administrative units will be reduced, reaching a decrease of 61.02%.
In particular, Vung Tau City is expected to reorganize 4 wards and 1 commune, with names of Vung Tau, Tam Thang, Rach Dua, Phuoc Thang and Long Son commune.
Ba Ria City is expected to be arranged into 3 wards with names: Ba Ria, Long Huong and Tam Long.
Phu My City is expected to reorganize 4 wards and 1 commune; With the expected name of Tan Thanh, Phu My, Tan Phuoc, Tan Hai and Chau Pha commune.
Long Dat district is expected to arrange 4 communes: Long Dien, Dat Do, Long Hai and Phuoc Hai.
Chau Duc district is expected to arrange 6 communes including: Ngai Giao, Binh Gia, Kim Long, Chau Duc, Xuan Son and Nghia Thanh.
Xuyen Moc district is expected to arrange 6 communes: Hoa Hiep, Binh Chau, Ho Tram, Xuyen Moc, Hoa Hoi and Bau Lam.
Establishment of Con Dao special zone on the basis of Con Dao district.
In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will issue a plan to guide localities to organize the collection of voters, expected from 17-19.4. Then proceeded to organize communal People's Council meetings (expected on April 20); District People's Council (expected 24.4).
On that basis, expected on April 27, the provincial People's Council will hold a meeting to consider and approve the above content, proceeding to complete the plan and scheme to submit to the Government for consideration before 1.5 as prescribed.
